Day 2 – Nashvegas

So we rolled into Nashville about 2 hours ago and things are already looking much better than yesterday.

For starters our hotel room is a HUGE improvement over yesterday.

Last night we stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Louisville. When I made my reservations over a month ago I made a few small requests (which they allow you to check when you sign up online): Quiet room – away from the elevator.

It turns out, that what the Hyatt is really looking for is ways to make your stay dreadful. While they did get me my king bed and the 18th floor, we were right next to the elevator and had one of those joined rooms (where you have a door into the room next to yours). That door offered ZERO sound protection.

I can tell you that the guest next door (who wasn’t being rude, you could just hear everything). Shaved with a stick razor (couldn’t quite tell the brand), used 3 shots of aftershave and had 4 messages from Sally, 1 from John, and 1 from Brandon.

The man upstairs only knows what he learned about us.

Needless to say, Hyatt in Louisville, KY is on my list of places I would recommend you never visit.

But like I said, things are looking up here. The weather is 100% better, the folks are super friendly and our room is awesome. A nice corner suite looking out over 4th and Church in down town.

We headed down to the War Memorial Auditorium to scout out things for tonight’s Jason Mraz concert and we almost (literally) ran into Toca (the man with his fingers in too many pies). I didn’t do the crazy fan thing and introduce myself, but it was still ‘cool’ by proxy.

I snapped some shots of the War Memorial and sent them to the photoblog.

I’ll keep you posted as the night goes along.
