BBS Glory Days
I was taking a short trip down ye old memory lane yesterday when I got to thinking about the glory days of The Shadowlands.
Ahh… my time spent as a Power SysOp was great.
There was me (Dark Angel), Boromir, Techno, Taope, and the Commish. Good times.
In any case I managed to find a few portings of our favorite BBS games and I present them here for your enjoyment:
Legend of the Green Dragon (aka L.O.R.D. – Legend of the Red Dragon)
Blacknova Traders (aka Planets)
Enjoy!
These games are currently just for screwing around. Once we get some players in there we will reset the worlds and have some fun.

As we were going through our things again this past spring to throw more stuff away, I was sorting through VHS tapes and I came across the Power SysOp movie done for the Shadowlands All Nighter… wow, that was bad… in many ways. You, John Loper, John Datema, Joe, Nathan, Tom… the Academy never called with any nominations. It was funny thinking back to those times. Interesting things, those days. I wonder if we should have a Shadowlands Reunion… NOT!
But always remember: Taope knows much that is hidden.
Well… I’ve had more than one request to see a copy of that video. Some day when things are a bit more clam, you might find it in your heart to encode it and drop it on to a cd or dvd for public distribution. Heck, I’d even love to see the footage from BOBFest 2000 (how’s that for a blast from the past?)
Oh.. and I just remember calling that tanning place on the phone and them thinking I was a total idiot… ah… the memories.
Well… the BOBFest I can easily get you copies of that… I even have that with me here in Texas. The Power SysOp thing… I might be able to relocate if I ever get back to MI, but I am not sure I want anything that bad floating out there with my name associated with it… so we would have to make some confidentiality agreement with that one (VHS/VCR deck to deck).
I loved L.O.R.D…. I used to break into telco boxes and use my beigebox to get credits to play it on some BBS. I am happy that God has Grace, because I probably wasted like $400 bucks of other peoples money playing that game. I was a dumb kid….
