Reflections of Today

Psalm 40

1) I waited patiently for the LORD;
he turned to me and heard my cry.

2) He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.

3) He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the LORD.

4) Blessed is the man
who makes the LORD his trust,
who does not look to the proud,
to those who turn aside to false gods.

5) Many, O LORD my God,
are the wonders you have done.
The things you planned for us
no one can recount to you;
were I to speak and tell of them,
they would be too many to declare.

6) Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
but my ears you have pierced ;
burnt offerings and sin offerings
you did not require.

7) Then I said, “Here I am, I have come—
it is written about me in the scroll.

8) I desire to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart.”

9) I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly;
I do not seal my lips,
as you know, O LORD.

10) I do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness and salvation.
I do not conceal your love and your truth
from the great assembly.

11) Do not withhold your mercy from me, O LORD;
may your love and your truth always protect me.

12) For troubles without number surround me;
my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see.
They are more than the hairs of my head,
and my heart fails within me.

13) Be pleased, O LORD, to save me;
O LORD, come quickly to help me.

14) May all who seek to take my life
be put to shame and confusion;
may all who desire my ruin
be turned back in disgrace.

15) May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!”
be appalled at their own shame.

16) But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation always say,
“The LORD be exalted!”

17) Yet I am poor and needy;
may the Lord think of me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
O my God, do not delay.

Heart of Worship
Matt Redman

When the music fades
And all is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that’s of worth
That will bless your heart

I’ll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the ways things appear
You’re looking into my heart

I’m coming back to the heart of worship
And it’s all about You
All about You, Jesus
I’m sorry Lord for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about You
It’s all about You Jesus

King of endless worth
No one could express
How much You deserve
Though I’m weak and poor
All I have is Yours
Every single breath

I’ll bring You more than just a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You’re looking into my heart

I’m coming back to the heart of worship
And it’s all about You
All about You, Jesus
I’m sorry Lord for the thing I’ve made it
When it’s all about You
It’s all about You Jesus

Its all about you
Jesus

  • Did you read my blog? And why is it that Eric Sherman no longer appears on your ‘those who blog list?’

  • Hey Broken626,

    I scanned through your blog for a little while ago and took a look at a few entires. I think you were a little unfair to Dan Brown. It’s a work of fiction, if you want to dispute his stated facts, then those 3 or 4 are listed on the first page, the rest is made up for good story telling. Just my nickels worths.

    Eric Sherman many, many, many moons ago resquested that he universally not be listed as a blogger anywhere. Frank Pembleton’s blog was up for a while, but it would appear that Frank has left the world of blogging.

    Eric has again begun writing, but if you’re interested in reading about what God is doing in his life now, you’ll have to contact him directly for that source.

  • As an reformed assasin of the Shaowikhen nation I would expect more from you. Oakentree expects more from pits inhabitants.

  • This Eric you speak of used to exist but no longer does. There is an eric I am familiar with, if that is to whom you are referring, but he is a putz on the grandest scale and it is unlikely any would desire to read his mumblings.

  • Oh, I don’t know there were three blogs I enjoyed reading on the ‘net, two belonged to people name Eric, and one to a guy named Bob. I think I miss the pictures the most, being a visual guy myself. ‘Nuff said.

  • Well, as I hear, eric has received very few emails asking for his new address, but if there is a desire, all are welcomed who ask.

  • Check your hotmail Mr. Pembleton.

  • Oakentree… now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a LONG time. Somewhere I think I have a huge map… hmm… time to go digging.

    Pictures are returning, for now I just needed to change the scheme so folks would realize that wow, something had been changed.
