Lemony Snicket
Michelle, Dafyd, Jace and I all had the chance to head out to the dollar theater on the south side of Fort Wayne (aka Coventry 13) to see Lemony Snicket.
I have to say that I really enjoyed that movie.
Jace was bound and determined that he wasn’t going to like it. In fact, if you were to ask him today if he liked it, he would say no. But then he would proceed to tell in you in startling detail and with great enthusiasm all about the film. Dafyd just thought it was cool.
I had heard that Jim Carrey was WAY over the top in this movie, but I thought that he did a fine job. In fact, after we saw the movie (we have since purchased the DVD that has come out since I originally started this entry), we bought the first 3 books to take home and read.
If haven’t had a chance to pick this up, well, it’s the next best thing to Harry Potter (another one of my secret pleasures).

not to jump ahead of the blog entry itself – but the young folks and I enjoyed the BOOK immensely – and while I’m not sure how they liked the movie,
to me the only good thing about it was that we caught it at the 50-cent theater at Coventry-13.
The pedophilia wedding at the end just….bugged me!
Ooh – Lemony Snicket. Along with Harry Potter, one of my guilty pleasures. Should be studying Camus and other French classics – nah. Messrs Potter and Snicket win hands down. Not seen the film though.
