A Night Out

Well believe it or not, Michelle and I finally broke down and had a night out.

I know, it was a totally shocker to me as well, but sure enough we found ourselves out on a Friday night doing up the town.

However we were not alone in this endeavor and we drug a few friends along to enjoy the ride with us. Bobby & Stephanie Rockrock, Jon Youse, Michelle and I all headed over to The Red River Steakhouse for dinner.

Now I’ve personally never been to the Red River, but Jon suggested we give it a try. The restaurant is located at a hotel (the name escapes me right now) and I was pretty impressed. I’m not a fan of crowds so it’s like pulling teeth to get me to want to “go out” on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I’d much rather go on a Monday afternoon and just avoid all the hassle, but Jon assured me that this was a hidden little gem wasn’t well traveled.

To his credit, Jon was right on the money. We were quickly seated (even though there were 5 of us) and the wait staff was very attentive. As you can imagine since it’s a steakhouse, I had to order some steak. The food was great, we had a great time talking T.V., movies, books, and some board games. So if you’re in the Fort and you’re looking for nice quite place to dine on a busy weekend night, check out the Red River Steakhouse.

From there we scooted over to Coldwater Crossing to catch a movie. Keeping with my theme of wanting to avoid crowds we choose a movie that had been out for a while (much longer than I actually realized) and settled on Hitch.

If you haven’t had a chance to head out and see this movie, I’d recommend you catch it, or certainly to hit it when it shows up on DVD. I wouldn’t call hitch a date movie, a chick flick, or any other such sort of label. It was certainly a movie about relationships, but I would have felt just as comfortable seeing the movie if it were just Jon, Bobby and I.

Other than Wild Wild West, I’ve always like Will Smith movies, he’s just a fun guy and this movie didn’t disappoint me either.

A great time was had by all.
