Well, I’ve been bitten by the Sci-Fi bug and there is no turning back.

I have become completely addicted to Stargate SG-1 and now Stargate Atlantis.

I blame Jon Youse for this fully as he willing supplied my addiction at the start. Now months later I am trading web work for Stargate Seasons on DVD. When will the madness end?

Seriously though, I’m having a blast watching this stuff. I’ve managed to watch all the seasons currently on DVD (1 thru 7) and I am now working on the episodes currently airing, Stargate Season 8 and Atlantis Season 1. I have until the 21st to watch them all and then I will be able to enjoy each episode in real time. No longer will Jon have to bite his tongue as I toss out random thoughts and ideas about a show that I’m years behind on.

It gets worse. I’m spreading the disease on to others. I’ve loaned my father Seasons 1 thru 5 to get him hooked as well.

He had always been interested in the series (much as I have been), but good luck trying to have a clue what’s going on by watching episodes in syndication. One day its an episode from 1997, the next 2002. So if you’re interested, I’d highly encourage you to go out and rent the DVDs at your local video store or online retailer (Netflix).

Now, I will warn all of you that there is nudity in the pilot episode, but that’s the only one. Sadly though, you really need to watch it to get the full story effect. Besides, it’s not gratuitous, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t let you know ahead of time.

This show is even causing me to branch out more into other Sci-Fi related things (Atlantis being one of them). I’m going to give the new Battlestar Galatica a try and take a look at things like Andromeda and others (sorry Nathan, I caught and episode or two of Farscape and I’m not sold on it yet).

So consider this your official encouragement to go out and try something new in 2005 that you might not have looked at before. Besides, how can you go wrong with MacGyver?
