It’s Only a Flesh Wound

Well you recall that pissed off feeling I was telling you about. That, “I’m sort of off but I don’t know why,” thing? Well, I figured it out.

I’m sick, or at least the flu is trying to invade my body.

Now I don’t know about you, but I’m not really found of things that try to storm into my blood stream, screw with my red and white blood cells and cause my already overactive mucus glands to kick into overdrive. So I did the only thing I could and took the remainder of Friday afternoon off and went home and slept.

I feel better (for the most part).

It got me thinking though how much our physical well being is connected to both our mental and spiritual state. I think the whole stress of this waiting is getting me. I don’t know why I do it to myself, but I obsess over things and become mentally fixated on them. Then I slip into my insomnia and the same thoughts fill my night time hours as well.

Michelle asks me all the time why I do it? “Bob, what good does it do to stress out over these things?” Well, that’s a silly rhetorical question. None. I know that. You’re not telling me anything new. Granted, that’s not going to stop me anytime soon from doing it, but hey, someday I’ll learn.

So today I’m just kinda relaxing. I went to Best Buy early in the morning (like 10:30) and got a new 1 GIG SD card for my iPAQ so I can put lots of movies, music, pictures and other fun things on there.

I’m still having a lot of fun with this thing. I installed this iPAQ Mobile Media software called NevoMedia Server and it’s just amazing. I can steam movies, music, and pictures from my PC to my iPAQ anywhere I can connect to my wireless network. On top of that I can control what’s playing on my PC from the iPAQ. Craziness. Not only that I found out that the IR remote is a smart remote and can learn IR streams on the click of the button. Man, technology is awesome.

Tonight I stopped by the game store (www.morethangames.com) to wish John Q. Kaufeld a happy birthday, so Happy Birthday John.

Other than that, I’m just kinda chillin’. You crazy kids have fun.
