Ugh
This 22 hour days with 3 hours of sleep is gonna do me in soon.
Needless to say it was a long night last night (I left around 3 a.m.) and I had to be back in around 7. Add in driving time, and changing clothes and that doesn’t leave a whole lot of time for anything else.
To make matters worse when I got home I couldn’t sleep. That darn brain in my head refuses to shut down. So I came up with a new twist on an old phrase, “The body is ready but the mind is stubborn or the body is willing by the brain resists.”
I collapsed onto the bed and boom, I couldn’t sleep and the alarm came WAY too early.
On the plus side it looks like Regan Clem made the difference in Ohio. Thanks Regan! My guess is that Kerry will concede sometime today. On a related election funny, the Marathon Gas Station on the corner of Clinton and St. Joe Center/Washington Center road had a marquee that read, “BOB SAYS GET OUT AND VOTE.” I guess more people read www.ifoundbob.com than I thought.
Two huge annoying things last night from watching CNN:
1) Larry King asking every five minutes, do you think that the winning candidate can bring the country back together after the election? I wanted to smack him.
2) When CNN made its big announcement, we are calling Ohio, “Too close to call.” And then the followed it up with how they were able to call it that, they were so proud of themselves, like they had just invented cheese or something.
Personally I was bummed that Michigan let me down, but it was closer than I had hoped. What I find funny is that while places like CNN have called Nevada and Wisconsin, but cannot call Ohio, you have the flip side of MSNBC that has called Ohio (giving Bush 269 electoral votes) but will not call Nevada or New Hampshire. FOXNews & MSNBC have called Ohio, CNN, CBS, and ABC haven’t yet. You’ve gotta love politics.
I was glad to see that the Republicans added houses in both the House and the Senate and that “My Man Mitch” will be the governor of Indiana. I was also SUPER ecstatic that Tom Daschle lost his seat in South Dakota. However, I am going to have to go with Regan on this one, I like Barack Obama.

Yeah…Sorry about that Michigan thing…My bad. I didn’t vote enough.
Barack Obama did a great job at the Democratic National Convention, but did you didn’t listen to the debates? He was as left as you get and made, imnsho, the stupid stance that John Kerry took about his personal spiritual beliefs not effecting his politics. He even went as far as to accuse Alan Keyes of allowing that and that it was a bad thing. So the only personal beliefs that are allowed to effect our public life are the secular ones. The debates are good listening. You can hear them at Keyes2004.com if you’re bored. Anyway, neither one of us had a say in the matter. Keyes for President in 2008!
