Speed Trap – Fort Wayne

Just a quick little note for all your Fort Wayne drivers out there.

It seems that FWPD has setup a nice little speed trap for all you unsuspecting drivers out there. It’s really a clever one if you want my opinion. But over the past week or so, I have seen someone pulled over every time I drive by there.

This is the setup:

You’re heading NORTH on Parnell (this is of course a great little way to by-pass Clinton). Right where Parnell meets Coliseum meet is of course the Coliseum, but across the street is the city maintenance garage where they fix all the local police cars. So it’s no suprise to see them sitting there.

Well it gets pretty busy there at that intersection, lots of folks trying to cross the street and merge into Clinton get held up by all those folks trying to turn right onto Coliseum. So what does the impatient driver do? Well, he whips over into the left lane, flys passed all the traffic, cuts over to the right lane just behind Applebees.

You don’t think twice about seeing a cop car sitting at the maintenance garage because there are lots of them there. Well, that’s when they nail you. Someone is actually sitting in one, you’re speeding, and driving agressively and BAMO, they’ve got you. Like I said, I’ve seen in an action.

So when taking that route home, to Best Buy, or game night, make sure you slow down before you cross the intersection, you’ll thank me for it when you don’t get a ticket.
