Shark Tale
Wednesdays are great days for me. Kara has classes several times during the week that keep her from being able to be at home when the boys get out of school; thankfully I have a job that allows me the freedom to leave early or work outside of the office if need be. So on Wednesday’s I get to leave work early and go pick up the boys. It’s always a great time. We leave our book backs and laptops at the door and we go out and just enjoy our time together.
Sometimes we do nothing more than run all those errands that I have piled up because I don’t have any other time. Sometimes it’s a trip to the gas station to fill up the orange box and get some combos for the drive to Fort Wayne. (Recently Dafyd has been asking to get out and help me pump gas – wow time sure flies when you’re not looking). Sometimes it’s a trip to the mall, but most time it’s cartoons and Mega Bloks at the house.
Every once and awhile we like to have a no rules day and we do something really fun. It’s not that we don’t have any rules, its just that idea of doing something special when you normally wouldn’t do it. One day we went and got ice cream BEFORE dinner, but today was a movie day. Movies are only to be watched after all our work is done, and going to the theater is normally a weekend event, however, today was no rules day. So the four of us (Dafyd, Jace, Michelle and I), piled into the element and headed over to Coldwater to see Shark Tale.
So we loaded up on popcorn, pop, candy and hot dogs and headed off to see the movie.
Jace, the popcorn king, loved the movie, he said he liked it better than finding Nemo. Dafyd on the other hand (being a more critical movie watcher) said it was okay.
I’d have to agree with Dafyd on this one. The movie was, well okay. It didn’t have a tremendous amount of substance in it, not a lot of jumps or fun scares for kids. There weren’t a really a lot of laugh out loud funny parts either. For me, the Godfather theme wore a little thin by the end, and the animation just wasn’t stunning in the same fashion as Finding Nemo was.
It was a good movie, fine for the whole family, but nothing that you wanted to rush out and see again anytime soon. All the actors did a fine job, but I was more excited seeing the trailer for the Incredibles coming out in November.
None the less it was a great time with the boys.
