Nothing… Absolutely nothing…
Today was a very good day. I did nothing.
Yes, absolutely nothing. Aside from work, and the boys’ soccer game, I didn’t do anything. I didn’t go anywhere, accomplish any great works, build any web pages or change the world in the slightest.
I had Mancino’s for lunch, watched some TV, napped for about 2 hours, watched some Stargate SG-1 and then had dinner (at around 8:30 – cider, an apple and a banana).
To continue our trend of doing nothing all day (Michelle avoided homework), we watched The Day After Tomorrow, and for those of you have already seen it, know that that accomplished even more nothing.
That movie was just dreadful.
I mean honestly, I only bought it to show Michelle how bad it really was, and perhaps laugh my way through it (much to the annoyance of Michelle at times). The best promo line while the movie was out , “The movie George Bush doesn’t want you to see.”
Thank you George. Thank you. Thank you for caring enough about me to try and dissuade me from seeing such an awful film. I know that it had nothing to do with the Cheney look-a-like running the country and everything thing to do with a horridly forced plot line peppered with bad acting, terrible setups, cheesy one liners, and laughible social commentary. If for no other reason, you have earned my vote this fall.
What kind of lame-ass title is “The Day After Tomorrow”? How about “The Day After Next?” or even the obvious, “Two Days From Now”. Oh well, at least they have allowed themselves an opening for a sequel, “The Day Before Yesterday.”
Don’t minunderstand me, I’m all about the environment. I think we abuse the world we live in. The interesting part is this (according to moveon.org, is supposed to be an attack agaisnt Bush, because again, he is obviously the cause of all the worlds evils – it’s amazing that one man can destroy the planet in only 4 years), but the movie points out time and time again, that the ice age happened naturally do to a build of up green house gases 10,000 years ago. That this process of warming and cooling is a natural part of the earth’s cycle, however somehow now that it’s happening again, it’s wrong and we must stop it. What happened to the normal ebb and flow of nature?
Any who?
After a day like today, I think I can make it until November before I get my next break.
(Bonus points if you know what movie I stole the title from. “Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Stupid. You’re so stupid.”)

I loved that movie as a kid.
Conan the Librarian.
Tons of laughs.
Honestly, Bob, which of your TRUE friends would not actually recognize that movie reference?
Well Tom, my TRUE friends would know that the extra bonus points would garnish them nothing as we keep no records of wrongs… well, we do keep a record, but we only use it when we absolutely have to, or it yields laughs.
