You might be a red neck if…

…your neck is red. Saturday was a good day. It was the first soccer game of the season for the boys. Jace is Purple #13 and Dafyd is Yellow #4 (I feel like I am reading ingredients from the back of the M & M’s wrapper). This is Jace’s first year in soccer and he seems to be loving it. He’s not a wiz on offence, but he knows how to clear and stop a ball on defense. His team lost today 4 to 2, but he got snacks from the snack shack, and in the end, I think that was all that really mattered to him.

Dafyd on the other hand is in his second year of soccer (having been on the Purple team last year). He too is no master on the attack, but when it comes to defense, he can stop ‘em dead in their tracks. His team won 1 to 0, which was very exciting to Dafyd since his team didn’t win a game at all last year. It was a great time. My parents drove down to watch the game so it was nice to see them as well.

It turned out to be a rather warm sunny day and I ended up getting a little burnt. Michelle, Mom, Dad and I went out to lunch afterwards at Blimpies (yes, Blimplies is the best) and then headed off to see Hero, which much to my surprise, my Mom really liked.

Sunday was another great day. I had a chance to watch the Lions play. They won, which was awesome. Michelle, and only the good Lord knows why, is a die hard Lions fan, so to see the win, on the road, made her whole day.

Overjoyed by the Lions win, we decided to rearrange the living room and spent the rest of the afternoon doing so.

All in all, it was by far one of the most relaxing weekends I’ve had in quite some time, which is good, because I am going to get hammered this week with work. The big yearly conference for the IDEAL project is coming next week and I have to get ready for it, normal stuff at the paper and the University of Saint Francis, and to top it all off, I have to launch the new site for www.andrew-peterson.com on Wednesday (they promised I’d have the art work later today – UGH!).

It’s going to be a fun week.
