And now for Something Completely Different…

Another day has been torn from my desk calendar and time has marched forward once more. The day is new and therefore filled with new possibilities, new hopes, new dreams and new beginnings. The sun shines out brightly in blue sky and all seems greener in the world around me.

So, four blog entries yesterday, what I was I thinking?

Today things are looking good, I feel in a much better mood. I had a chance to hang out with Michelle and just watch stupid stuff on T.V. like the Joe Schmo 2 show, American Chopper and Monster House, so it was nice not to have to to really think about anything too deeply. The boys were also over last night for dinner so they always bring my spirits up. Nothing like watching a 6 year old down 3 hot dogs to just make you laugh. Jace just cracks me up. The kid does not stop talking. Not a mouth full of food, nothing. There was one time when Michelle and I were at the mall with Jace and we went into It’s a Puzzle and Jace pointed out and talked about every single (no joke) puzzle in the store. “Oh look at this puzzle its about the statue of liberty. Oh look over here at this one, it has bears on it.” I haven’t laughed that hard since, he just did not take a breath.

In other news I finally won my latest conquest on eBay. A few weeks ago I had found this amazing Settlers of Catan playing table. It was a home made deal where the guy had routed out spaces for all the tiles and roads as well as places to hold the cards (an issue of mine) as well as trays for your pieces. But no matter how often I bid on them I never won (mostly because I refused to pay $80.00 for something like that).

As with all good things on eBay if you wait around long enough, you’ll be able to get one for your price.. however I wasn’t willing to wait that long so I bid a little higher and was able to win one. Check out how smooth and creamy this is. Now, I only have to organize the contents of my box and I’ll have a set to rival even the great Tom Flammer himself with his multi-colored Altoids tins.

Oh, and here is something I cannot believe isn’t sweeping the internet: Knight Rider Season 1 is finally on DVD. Mmmmm, David Hasselhoff is so dreamy in the 1980s. I haven’t decided if I’m ready to shell out the 40 bucks for it, but it was such a part of my childhood, I like to cling to those small bits of nostalgia and pass them along to Dafyd & Jace. As it is, I have already gotten them addicted to adding Ranch Dressing to all their foods (Papa Johns – Lansing, not that crappy national chain, is still the all time best with Ranch), and watching Invader Zim (one of the greatest cartoons of our time). Jace is already hooked on some board games and is a total video game nut (he and Dafyd have even trash talked Tom about Game Cube).

Speaking of flashes from the past, Doom 3 finally hit stores this week (as well as the world wide web), though, I’ll give it some time before I consider “buying” it.

So there you have it.

Look for the Flight of the Volkswagen coming to a blog near you.

  • Speaking of the Papa John’s in Lansing. They changed their pizza since we were in college. Some don’t like it as much. Others like it better. The price is still dirt cheap. I just long for a pizza since I am not supposed to have wheat or cheese. The secret to successful weightloss.

  • What is it about wheat and or cheese that you are not supposed to have? I thought Milk did a body good?
